Floto Sardinia Leather Convertible Women's Bag

Floto was established in 2003 after Joe Floto brought back a leather travel bag from Italy and noticed that everywhere he went with it, people asked, "Where did you get that bag?" We specialize in Italian hand-stained leather that is metal-free, sustainable, and not harmful to people. This centuries-old Tuscan tanning tradition produces colorful leather that is easy to craft and gets better with age. Creating new styles out of supple full-grain leather brings us to the workshop every day with a smile.

Floto leather bags are handcrafted in Florence, Italy, by skilled artisans practicing techniques handed down for generations. On average, a Floto leather bag will pass through 28 different workbenches at our factory: cutting, skiving, gluing, sanding, painting, internal assembly, hand stitching, riveting, and more. Along the way, we take pride in our work, laugh, and appreciate life. We arrive at work early, take a long lunch and nap, and then work into the evening, enjoying wine and pasta for dinner. This is what it takes to produce a Floto bag, and this is the typical day at our factory.

The Sardinia Tote is made in Italy with full-grain vegetable-tanned calfskin leather. This leather was handmade in the Etruscan style in Santa Croce to soften, patina, and develop a silky touch. Only vegetable extracts and natural oils were used to create a rich, vibrant color and a tender, semi-gloss finish. The Sardinia has a built-in shoulder strap that is expandable to crossbody length, with a drop that adjusts from 7" to 14". The interior is lined with beige-colored cotton canvas and features a front zipper pocket, inside zip compartment, inside zip pocket, and smartphone and charger pocket.

Floto is an American brand, and every Floto leather bag is artisan-made in Italy, but designed and packaged in the United States.
